There are some animals more loyal than friends.
My friend was wondering yesterday as her birthday nears, that she used to have a lot of friends now where have they gone. I kept telling her it was time. It was with time we knew. I told her a story I'd read before somewhere, that just stuck....
Two friends walking on the beach, one of the friends says, How to find out who's my true friend and who isn't? Well, the other friend sits down and takes a fistful of sand in his hand. He tells his friend to observe. The fistful of sand starts to slide out of the hand back onto the shore gradually and in a very ribbonlike fashion. Then he opens his fist and he finds that there are only a grainful of sand left. He says, that my friend are your true friends. The friend is baffled. He says, what happened? Where did the rest of them go? The friend replies, we have plenty of friends, and with time, they get reduced to a mere few, those who love you and who you love with all your heart stick to you through the good times and the bad, that's how you know your true friends.
I had narrated this story to my friend and she appreciated it being told. I appreciated it too. After one year, I certainly have found my true friends, who I can call upon in good times and bad. Even though I'm far far away, my friends are with me. Reduced to quite a handful. But they are all I have for support. On this note, I'm heading back to the Consumer Behaviour topic.
Arrgh.
Love.
