My blueberry nights.
Stars Norah Jones, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz.
Now really, I didn’t know Norah Jones could say a dialogue!
But she can.
And well, if you want me to analyse furthur ...we should ask her to stick to singing.
I was rather excited when I saw a fellow writer at the agency reading on Blueberry Nights and I asked him if I could see it, and Voila! I got the CD home, rushedly watched the movie.
And as it began on a rather slow paced note, it was Jude Law who I thought was immensely wasted in this so called road trip, which Norah embarks upon. A heart-break and a surprising friendship, you get on that ride, having supposed normal encounters with people.
If you’re someone who needs hardcore great acts, then don’t watch this movie, the protagonist is someone thought to have had potential by a renowned filmmaker Wong Kar Wai. But fails miserably, for instance, roping in fantastic performers like Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz. Oh Dear. It is the supporting cast that gives the movie its edge. Norah tries, but she you know, doesn't have so much passion, as she does for singing, understandably?
The movie is decent. It is quite endearing. It’s a really simple movie.
Sometimes, all you need is to just cross the street.Well, sometimes you need to take that ride.
It’s a date movie.I can say nothing more than that.
And please, please, don’t ever waste Jude Law like that. EVER!
