Some stories come from the heart..Kite Runner is one of them. It's splendid. It's the Afghan air. It's all that innocence of the muslim countries, it's all that is left. Khaled is a marvellous storyteller. He's really sensitive. In the sense of a man's feelings. He truly understands. After going back to my love of reading books, it was a tag that made me get back to it, and also a huge fight! Haha. How we love to drown in the stories, stories that are told by artists, the ones who simply enjoy the joy of weaving intricate details of their hometowns, fiction is where the world gets its daily dose of aphrodisiacal dreams. We yearn, we wait, we simply smile, get overwhelmed at the beauty of conjoined phrases, at the dexterity of a man's compassion, it's like we are inseparable. Kite Runner reminded me of the war in Iraq, of the Afghanis' and the Taliban, it even reminded me of Sally Field who acted tremendously well in Not without my daughter, it sends shivers down your spine. But yes, fiction is where you curl up and descend into someone's arms and know you're safe. In the careful words, in a contemplative mood. In a triumphant gaze you look up at the world as the story finishes, you've been acknowledged by the story. You are a part of it. You rejoice with Amir Agha and Soraya jan. You smile and adopt Sohrab as your own. You say a soft prayer to Hassan.
Khaled Hosseini has told a touching story. It's almost perfect. There are overwhelming tears in all the right places. They caress in the right way. Like foreplay, just the right amount and you're coming already. That's Khaled. Kite Runner was a brilliant story, I got my hands on after a year of my promises that I would. The plots of Amir, Hassan, Ali and Sohrab, were extremely clever. Almost genius. I'm amazed at his storytelling. So amazed that I didn't know a man could be so gentle with his feelings. It baffled me, truly. It was too perfect. That's why maybe, I don't love the book so much. In the end, the book goes on to achieve the notoriety, it set out to achieve, the book was a clear cut Hindi movie.
