Of Evenings and Fraaandship days!

Evening

Stars Vanessa Redgrave, Meryl Streep, Claire Danes, a few hot hunks.

A movie about love and life. And all the in betweens.

I missed the beginning, but you can figure it out anyways. The content of the movie lingers on the nostalgic reasonings of the mind. Every single day, the decisions we make, becomes our life. We don’t know our parents the way we know our friends. They are full of hidden secrets. Vanessa Redgrave is on her deathbed, and keeps mumbling about her past in her sleep. Someone called Harris. She is supposedly married to 7 men. And has 2 daughters. While her younger daughter goes through a troubled phobia that borders on being a commitment phobe. She comes to terms with her mother’s loneliness. And her sister’s supposed perfect life. Meryl Streep, is one of the visitors and her small act leaves a lasting impression, as always.

Claire Danes does a fabulous job, but at the same time, she is that quaint young woman who resembles the youth of every grandma, you ever saw. Hopeful. Playful. And Passionate. It’s a memory that Redgrave trails , to remember her life go by. From young friends, to best buddies, to someone who you fall in love with..a secret affair. And someone you can’t forget for the rest of your life.

One things for sure, this movie makes you ponder. It makes you feel liberated in a way of solace, a comfort that you get when you realize that your life isn’t any different. And there are always just so many questions, that if they get answered, the life would lose its charm anyway. I would like to mention a quote here, which seems to have stuck in my mind…

“In life there are no mistakes…Sometimes we get nervous, but we dance anyway”

Today is friendship day! One of the many acts that the commercial world plays upon our minds. SO I decided to snub that world. Didn’t meet any of my friends, but wished everyone of them.It was Ugly Betty Marathon day..God, yea....Well, if that was my idea of fun, more so, it was my idea of not getting off the couch. You see, every weekend of mine is spent meeting my friends, so who needs the commercial world to dictate my life? It pains me to admit, that I’m such a hypocrite, all this advertising business is what I’m part of. But hey, it’s only Life. And if this is the day that helps some laughter to echo, then why not, my friend? Let the party begin!
