It's another public Holiday here. Hari Raya. Like Eid. It's pretty special because I am quite surprised Singapore has many holidays, even Deepavali as official one. Feels special of course. It's been around 7 months I've been here. So far, so good. Have a major assignment submission week with a few presentations, so busy with that. I've been cooking sometimes, buying groceries from Sheng Siong and Cold storage.
I was cooking in the C block today and found an Indonesian, super sweet talking to me about Indian culture, usually our block is haunted by myriad Tamilians, and most of which just flys above my head, so something intelligible in English is just what I yearn to hear, there's a vietnamese as well, and she's fascinated by Indian food. She tried my eggplant curry and says, hey not so spicy...haha...she was expecting an explosion in her mouth, sadly which I didn't deliver. I kind of felt a tad bad. But, nevertheless, feels like a nice lazy holiday I feel like taking an afternoon nap, like we do in good 'ol India, ladies sleep soundly...
I managed to cook up some nice noodles with tomatoes and cabbage, pretty tasty, so that was my lunch. I've cooked some broccoli and rice, that will be my dinner with eggplant and some pappadam. I wanted to make cake though, but maybe some other time.
I've been exercising regularly, give or take a few days, a friend, bailed on me, as we were to meet to discuss Zoukout, crazy dance festival here. But, I think I'll save my money and visit a country. I have to yet figure out a right dissertation topic. But, I'll need to research sooner or later. I walked all the way from Orchard to my hostel in the pouring rain and I even lost my way somewhere. Gosh! It can be a task getting around in this small country. I have to check my mail, it's been long I haven't been checking at all. In the evening, I would. It's almost 3pm now, so will go take a nap, the bed is too inviting.
I've been watching How I met your mother and it puts me in good spirits. Feels so nice. The characters are normal and easygoing and adorable. Anyway, that's been most of my pasttime, and now I might just start watching Gossip girl, my friends say it's exciting. Well, I hope it is, but I still have to finish up on HIMYM. We'll see how it goes.
Till then.
